Electrical Engineering: Course Information and Future Prospects

Electrical engineering is the one of the core branches of engineering dealing with the study and application of electricity, electronics and electromagnetism. It deals with designing and testing circuits, inductors, capacitors and registers. Electrical power being the vital part of life ranging from agricultural activities to corporate offices, from the communication system to basic household appliances. Electrical engineers deal with electronic transmission, problems and machines.

There are various sub-branches like electronics, digital, computers, power engineering, telecommunications, signal processing, control systems, etc. have developed under this branch depending upon different sectors. The under-graduate degree to complete electrical, engineering is B.E. or B.Tech. from approved and accredited college. The subjects, though under it includes electrical machine, switch gear protection, electrical drivers, high voltage engineering, power system analysis, control and protection etc.

There are many renowned colleges which offer this course, one of them is a St. Andrews Institute of Technology and Management, located in Gurgaon and affiliated to MDU. It provides practical training, self-development with the theoretical knowledge. For this, the admission in Electrical Engineering College in Gurgaon is through IIT-JEE/AIEEE score or institute specific entrance test followed by in person counselling. The faculty is well experienced and works on strategic teaching methods to mould students for a bright future. They work on blend of both method of book learning and practical training with in-depth understanding of topics and concepts.

The core subjects are taught under 8 semester in a tenure of 4 years and for higher education in electrical engineering graduates can further pursue M.Tech with specialization. Admission in Electrical Engineering College in Delhi NCR for post-graduation is on the basis of GATE score, where 70% weightage is given to score and 30% to academic merits. There are scholarships provided by union ministry of human resource development (HRD) for receiving merit in GATE.

Electrical engineers are in high demand in every sphere of life from manufacturing to process industries, robotics to automobile and transports, aviation and navigation industries etc. Their work includes research and blueprint of design, manufacture, develop and sell in market with testing new electrical equipment, generation and transmission of energies, dealing with pocket size and large electronic devices, using diverse technologies for production and maintenance of electrical energy etc. Since India is world’s third largest producer of electricity and government goal is “Power for all” with the compounded annual growth rate of 5.6% this industry has a huge demand for electrical engineers to handle power deficits and to place their skills and minds for newer ideas of power generation and less but optimum power consumption.

Students seek admission in Electrical Engineering in Haryana to become professional electrical engineers to higher job prospects with ongoing expansion in the industry. Some of the recruiters are BHEL, Samsung, Tata power, Reliance industries limited, Siemens, NHPC, Hitachi, Crompton greaves, Larsen & Toubro etc.

With brighter job prospects and various area of research electrical engineering is one of the prime streams of engineering opted by many students to help them build a successful and distinguished careers.
